Movies can be a great springboard for important family discussions, further learning, and all around fun. Documentary films are, obviously, especially conducive to additional learning and exploration. And since the activities are associated with a movie, they seem a lot more exciting and fun for kids.
Inspired by the Disneynature documentary Chimpanzee, here are some ideas and resources for activities and information to help kids learn more about chimps, their African forest habitat, and environmentalist Jane Goodall.

As with other Disneynature films, Disneynature has provided amazing educational resources for parents and teachers to help kids learn more about the animals and habitats in the movie. Kids can also get involved by seeing the movie opening week, which will result in a donation from Disney to the Jane Goodall Institute, or by learning more about JGI and how they can get involved.

- Make a Mask: Use foam, construction paper, or other materials to make a chimpanzee mask. Here is an example of a similar monkey mask on JoAnn.com. Kids can write a play or a PSA about saving chimps and perform for Grandma and Grandpa.
