Rescue workers save dog trapped on icy lake in US
A dog stranded on an icy Lake Erie in Michigan is plucked from danger by rescue workers.
A man and his dog are rescued after being trapped in broken ice off coast of
Lake Erie in Michigan.
Jim Swayze and and his 11-year-old dog called Bart were out for a walk, when
Bart wandered away and fell through the ice.
Mr Swayze tried to rescue the dog but he also became trapped on the fragile
ice.
"My wife called the 911 and we got the rescue there," Mr Swayze
said, adding that his cousin was among the rescue workers.
Rescue crews used a boat to reach Mr Swayze, who was was waist-deep in the
freezing water, and his dog.
