Are we smart enough to know how smart animals are?
Dr. Franz de Waal has spent his career trying to get inside the minds of animals. He's done ground-breaking work, largely with chimpanzees and monkeys, trying to understand how their minds are similar to, and different from ours, and working out the continuum of animal intelligence.
The book is called, Are We Smart Enough to Know How Smart Animals Are?
Dr. de Waal is Professor of Psychology at Emory University and director of the Living Links Center at the Yerkes National Primate Center in Atlanta, Georgia.
